Detailed Itinerary: 8 Days Gorilla & Coastal Wildlife Safari Gabon
Day 1: Arrival in Libreville
Arrive at Libreville International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, relax or take a brief city orientation.
Evening safari briefing covering itinerary, safety, and conservation highlights. Overnight in Libreville.
Day 2: Transfer to Loango National Park
Morning flight or drive to Loango National Park. Known for its unique combination of savannah, rainforest, and pristine beaches, Loango is often called “Africa’s Last Eden.”
Afternoon coastal wildlife exploration with opportunities to see forest elephants, buffalo, and hippos against the backdrop of the Atlantic coastline. Overnight at a lodge within the park.
Day 3: Loango Savannah and Beach Safari
Full-day safari in Loango National Park. Explore savannah and forest areas where elephants and buffalo often reach the coast.
Optional activities include beach walks, canoeing, and birdwatching along estuaries and lagoons. Overnight at the park lodge.
Day 4: Forest Wildlife Trekking – Gorillas and Primates
Transfer to Moukalaba-Doudou National Park or nearby forested areas for gorilla trekking. The park is home to habituated western lowland gorilla groups and a diversity of other primates.
Spend one regulated hour observing gorillas and take in the lush forest scenery. Return to the lodge for rest.
Day 5: Additional Gorilla or Primate Trekking
Optional second gorilla trek or guided walk to observe chimpanzees, mandrills, and colobus monkeys.
Afternoon at leisure for photography, birdwatching, or scenic nature walks. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Coastal and Marine Wildlife Exploration
