Your adventure begins with your arrival in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city. After being warmly welcomed by your guide, you’ll take a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the north of the country. The journey offers stunning views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and lush countryside.

On the second day, you’ll set out on an early morning gorilla trek, one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences in the world. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you’ll trek into the dense forests of the Virunga Mountains in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can be challenging, but the reward of spending time with these gentle giants in their natural habitat is unforgettable. You’ll have up to an hour to observe the gorillas as they interact, feed, and play.

After the trek, you’ll return to your lodge to relax and reflect on this incredible experience. The evening is free for you to enjoy a leisurely dinner and prepare for the next leg of your journey.

Day 3-4: Transfer to Kenya – Masai Mara National Reserve

On the third day, you’ll travel back to Kigali for your flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. The drive to the Mara offers a glimpse of Kenya’s diverse landscapes, from the highlands to the open savannah.

Over the next two days, you’ll explore the Masai Mara on game drives that offer the chance to see the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos—as well as cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest. The Masai Mara is particularly famous for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. Even outside the migration season, the Mara’s wildlife viewing is exceptional.

In addition to game drives, you’ll have the option to visit a Maasai village to learn about the culture and traditions of the Maasai people. Evenings will be spent at your lodge, enjoying the sounds of the African night and the stunning views of the surrounding wilderness.

Day 5-6: Transfer to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

On the fifth day, you’ll cross the border into Tanzania and enter the Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world. The Serengeti is renowned for its vast plains, teeming with wildlife, and as a key part of the Great Migration route.

During your stay in the Serengeti, you’ll go on multiple game drives to explore different parts of the park, each offering its own unique wildlife experiences. From large prides of lions to vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes, the Serengeti is a wildlife lover’s paradise. You might also spot elusive predators like cheetahs and leopards, as well as a variety of bird species.

In the evenings, you’ll relax at your safari lodge or camp, taking in the breathtaking sunsets and the sounds of the savannah. The Serengeti’s endless horizons and abundant wildlife make it one of the most iconic safari destinations on the planet.

Day 7-8: Ngorongoro Crater – The Eden of Africa

Next, you’ll travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Tanzania’s most spectacular natural wonders. The crater is the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, and its enclosed ecosystem supports a rich diversity of wildlife.

On the seventh day, you’ll descend into the crater for a full-day safari. The crater floor is home to a high concentration of wildlife, including elephants, lions, black rhinos, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. The crater’s permanent water sources attract animals year-round, making it one of the best places in Africa to see a wide variety of species in a relatively small area.

After a day of game viewing, you’ll ascend the crater rim to your lodge, where you can enjoy stunning views of the crater and the surrounding highlands. The Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the “Eden of Africa” for its incredible scenery and abundant wildlife.

Day 9-10: Return to Arusha and Departure

On the ninth day, you’ll leave the Ngorongoro Crater and travel to Arusha, the gateway city for safaris in northern Tanzania. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to explore Arusha or visit local markets for souvenirs before heading to the airport.

Your journey ends with your flight home or to your next destination. As you depart, you’ll carry with you memories of an incredible 10-day adventure through some of East Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.
