Detailed Itinerary: 9 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Relax after your flight and enjoy a brief orientation on the upcoming safari.
Evening briefing covering the itinerary, wildlife highlights, and safety tips. Overnight in Entebbe.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Drive north to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is known for its dramatic waterfall, Nile River hippos, elephants, and savannah wildlife.
Afternoon game drive to spot elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, and antelopes. Overnight at a lodge near the park.
Day 3: Murchison Falls – Boat Safari and Game Drive
Morning boat cruise along the Nile River to view hippos, crocodiles, and abundant bird species.
Afternoon game drive in the park’s savannah and woodland areas. Optional visit to the top of Murchison Falls for panoramic views. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Drive southwest to Kibale Forest National Park, home to one of the highest concentrations of primates in Africa.
Afternoon at the lodge to rest and prepare for chimpanzee tracking. Optional guided nature walks. Overnight near Kibale.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale
Morning chimpanzee trek guided by experienced rangers. Observe social interactions, feeding habits, and behaviors of habituated chimpanzee groups.
Afternoon visit to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for birdwatching and additional primate spotting. Overnight near Kibale.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via scenic crater lakes region.
Afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi plains to spot elephants, lions, Uganda kob, and buffalo. Overnight at a lodge near the park.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth – Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
Morning game drive in the open savannah and woodland areas.
Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to observe hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife. Optional evening game drive or lodge relaxation. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to endangered mountain gorillas. The route passes terraced hills, local villages, and tea plantations.
Afternoon at the lodge to rest and prepare for gorilla trekking. Overnight in Bwindi.
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Departure
Early morning gorilla trek into the dense forest to track a habituated gorilla family.
Spend one regulated hour with the gorillas before returning to the lodge.
Transfer back to Entebbe for onward international departure, concluding your 9-day Uganda wildlife safari.
