Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara

A private transfer into the reserve gives you your own vehicle from the outset, with an afternoon game drive to scout the light and terrain.

Day 2: Dawn & Dusk Photographic Game Drives

Extended drives at first and last light target the golden-hour conditions photographers favor, with extra vehicle space for tripods, bean bags, and lens changes. River-adjacent forest patches here tend to hold different species than the open plains, adding leopard and a wider range of birdlife to the morning’s possibilities.

Day 3: Full Day Photographic Game Drives

A full day covers the Mara’s riverine forest and open plains, with your guide adjusting pace and positioning specifically for photography rather than a standard sightseeing circuit. Because balloon flights the same morning already covered the wider landscape from the air, this ground-based drive tends to focus on closer, more detailed sightings.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Return to Nairobi

A final dawn game drive is followed by the transfer back to Nairobi. This drive typically covers ground between the lodge and the reserve’s boundary, giving a last chance at plains game before the transfer back to Nairobi.
