Mihingo Lodge

Mihingo Lodge is built into a rocky outcrop on the boundary of Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savanna park and one of the few in the country that permits activities not allowed inside most other reserves, including walking safaris, mountain biking, and canoeing.

Setting & Style

The lodge’s tented rooms are set among the granite outcrop’s boulders, giving it a distinctive, elevated feel compared to the flatter savanna lodges typical of the region, with views over the park’s acacia woodland and lakes.

Activities

Because Lake Mburo allows walking and cycling safaris in addition to standard game drives, and canoe trips on the park’s lakes, a stay at Mihingo tends to be more varied day to day than lodges in parks where vehicle-based drives are the only option.
