Wilderness Bisate is set in a former eucalyptus grove near Volcanoes National Park that has been restored to native forest, and sits among the closest high-end properties in Rwanda to the park’s gorilla trekking trailheads.
Location & Setting
The lodge’s distinctive domed villas are built into the slopes of an eroded volcanic cone, with the surrounding reforestation project extending the park’s natural habitat right up to the property boundary. This restoration work, replacing non-native eucalyptus with indigenous forest species, is a defining feature of the property and part of the wider Wilderness group’s conservation approach applied across its African portfolio.
Architecture
