2 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking Express Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest

You’ll be picked up and driven to the Kibale Forest area, checking into a lodge near the park with time for an afternoon briefing on the following day’s trek and a chance to rest after the journey. The drive west from Kampala climbs gradually through Uganda’s tea-growing highlands before dropping into the warmer, forested terrain around Kibale.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Departure

An early start takes you into the forest with experienced trackers who follow calls and fresh signs to locate the community. Once found, you’ll spend up to an hour observing their behavior at close range before hiking back out and transferring onward for your departure. Kibale’s chimp community is one of the most habituated and heavily researched in Africa, which generally means calmer, more predictable viewing than at less-studied sites.
