Detailed Itinerary: 6 Days in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your guide and begin the scenic drive north to Murchison Falls National Park. The route passes rolling hills, farmland, and rural villages, gradually transitioning into savannah landscapes.
Check in at your lodge near the Victoria Nile, relax, and enjoy dinner while preparing for the safari ahead.
Day 2: Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park
Start the day with an early morning game drive. The northern sector of the park features large herds of elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, giraffes, and predators such as lions and leopards.
The varied habitats of savannah, woodlands, and riverine areas offer excellent wildlife viewing and photography opportunities. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest before an optional evening game drive.
Day 3: Boat Cruise to Murchison Falls
After breakfast, embark on a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Observe hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species along the river.
Witness the powerful Nile as it plunges through the narrow gorge, creating one of Uganda’s most spectacular natural landmarks. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and drive south toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey passes through scenic countryside, highlands, and small towns.
Arrive at your lodge near the park in the afternoon. Depending on arrival time, a short game drive can be arranged to spot elephants, buffalo, and Uganda kob before dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Full-Day Game Drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend the day exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park on game drives. The park’s varied ecosystems, including savannah, wetlands, and crater lakes, support abundant wildlife.
Expect to see elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, hippos, and Uganda kob. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where hippos and crocodiles abound and hundreds of bird species can be observed. Return to your lodge for dinner.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Return to Entebbe
Enjoy an early morning game drive to catch any wildlife missed previously and to photograph the park at sunrise. After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive back to Entebbe.
The journey provides scenic views of Uganda’s countryside, farmland, and small villages. Arrival in Entebbe marks the conclusion of your six-day safari adventure.
