Detailed Itinerary: 7 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi. Depending on arrival time, optional visits to local attractions may be arranged.
Evening safari briefing and overnight in Nairobi.
Day 2: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve via the Great Rift Valley. Scenic viewpoints along the way provide photo opportunities of the escarpment and surrounding landscapes.
Afternoon game drive upon arrival in the Maasai Mara. The reserve is renowned for its high density of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and buffalo. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp.
Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara
A full day dedicated to exploring the Maasai Mara’s expansive plains. Early morning and late afternoon game drives maximize wildlife sightings.
Seasonal highlight: The Great Migration (July–October), when vast herds of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River. Optional hot air balloon safari available at additional cost.
Day 4: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is famous for its alkaline lake and as a sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos.
Afternoon game drive around the lake. Expect sightings of rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo, and diverse bird species, including flamingos when water levels permit. Overnight at a lodge near the park.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park
Morning departure for Amboseli National Park. The drive offers varied landscapes as you travel south toward the Tanzanian border.
Arrive in the afternoon for a short game drive. Amboseli is celebrated for large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. Overnight at your safari lodge.
Day 6: Full-Day Game Drive in Amboseli
Morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli National Park. The park’s open plains provide excellent visibility for wildlife viewing and photography.
Common sightings include elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species. The snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro forms a dramatic backdrop.
Day 7: Amboseli to Nairobi – Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive before returning to Nairobi.
