First of all, half of the world’s endangered mountain gorilla population is said to reside in Uganda. One of the most remarkable wildlife experiences in Africa is witnessing these creatures up close in their natural environment. The gorilla visit directly contributes to population expansion and conservation initiatives.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are two of Uganda’s bestowed gorilla national parks. Both parks are about eight to nine hours’ travel from one another in the southwest part of Uganda.
As an alternative, you can take a domestic flight called “Aero Link” that lands in “1 hour” from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro or Kihihi Airstrip.
After they are placed in their native habitat, gorilla trekking trackers are allowed to spend an hour with the primates. Gorilla Habituation is a full-day event that includes four hours spent with gorillas, during which you will learn about their fascinating habits, behaviors, feeding, playing, and ground-based nest construction.
Chimpanzee trekking can be done in a number of locations in Uganda, including Kalinzu Forest, Budongo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park, Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Kibale Forest National Park.
However, given its large population densities and gratifying sightings, Kibale Forest appears to be the finest location for chimp trekking. It takes one hour to trek chimpanzees, and four hours to spend with them and learn their behaviors is known as chimpanzee habituation.
Although tourists can travel to Uganda at any time of year, the best time to visit is determined by the season.
The dry seasons of June through September and December through February are the ideal times of year to see gorillas in Uganda. The terms “high season” and “early bookings are advised” are frequently used to describe them.
The rainy months of March, April, May, October, and November are referred to as the “low season” because of the heavy rainfall, which causes muddy roads and the closure of several lodges.
